Covid-19 Protocol

All parents, players and coaches should be focused at all times on strategies to mitigate the risk associated with COVID-19.  Resources are available at https://www.usahockey.com/playersafetyParents will be required to sign a COVID release form prior to their players first practice.  If the release form is not signed, players will be unable to participate in practice.

The following protocol has been developed by the Northern Kentucky Youth Hockey Association (NKYHA) and Northern Kentucky Ice Center (NKIC).  Our continues to be focused on player, family and NKIC staff safety.  There will be a zero-tolerance policy for protocol violations.

General Safety Requirements:

  • Do not enter NKIC if you do not feel well.  If you are sick, stay home.
  • Mask use is encouraged but not required.
  • Wash your hands often.  Use hand sanitizer when necessary.
  • We encourage those with elevated risk factors to not enter NKIC or participate in NKYHA events.

Parents:

  • Required to screen player and themselves prior to entering NKIC.

  • Are diagnosed with COVID-19, notify Eric Kathman, NKYHA Vice President at e_kathman@yahoo.com and follow quarantine guidelines as outlined by the CDC and your physicians.
  • If you have any of the systems of COVID-19, as outlined by the CDC, please contact your physician to obtain clearance before entering NKIC.

NKYHA families will be notified of any positive COVID-19 cases.  Information will be limited to those who may have had a potential exposure to the player, parent or NKIC staff.  NKYHA players and parents will be referred to the guidance provided by the CDC Public Health Recommendations for Community Related Exposure.
